1000 Miglia Warm Up USA 2024: Exciting Second Leg And Middleburg Trophy Challenge
In the Atoka Chase area, illuminated pressure switches created an exciting end to the leg last night. The debut of evening practice added a thrilling element for the crews and increased the race's intensity. As the third leg began, cars left Middleburg and headed towards the Blue Ridge Mountains. They embarked on an 8-kilometer Average Trial from Ashby Gap to Bluemont, passing by Mount Weather Emergency Operations, a facility used by FEMA during national disasters.
Later in the morning, vehicles arrived at Harper’s Ferry for a Passage Control. This small 19th-century town sits on land formed by the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, marking the borders of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Following this stop, cars proceeded to Summit Point Motor Park. Here, they tackled 20 consecutive Time Trials on the Shenandoah Circuit before returning to Virginia.
The sixth Average Trial occurred along the Shenandoah River banks from Ashby Run. This segment included nine secret detections over just more than seven kilometers. The convoy then descended towards Middleburg to conclude the fourth sector with Time Trials in Salamander Resort's residential area.
After lunch, attention turned to the day's highlight: the Middleburg Trophy's 1 vs. 1 challenge. Starting at 4:30 pm, cars competed in a knockout race over an 80-meter regularity test in Middleburg's town center. Once the Trophy concluded, vehicles were displayed on M. Madison St., setting the stage for an evening celebration in the city.
