Entries Now Open For The Exciting 1000 Miglia Experience Italy In April 2024
The 1000 Miglia 2024 introduces a new event, the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy, set to occur from 10 to 13 April. This event expands the Red Arrow's journey beyond its traditional routes. Inspired by the success of Sorrento Roads, this race will cover 600 kilometres across Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia, offering participants a unique Italian driving experience.
The Experience Italy itinerary will traverse Southern Italy from west to east. It connects the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic seas while showcasing iconic locations in Campania, Basilicata, and Puglia. This journey promises breathtaking views and cultural discoveries as it moves through these regions.
On Thursday, 10 April, the event begins in Sorrento with technical and administrative checks. Participants will then compete along Corso Italia promenade in a thrilling knock-out race for the Città di Sorrento Trophy. The local community and tourists are expected to add to the vibrant atmosphere.
The first leg of the race starts on Friday from Sorrento. Crews will navigate through the stunning Amalfi Coast towards Salerno, Scorzo, and Caggiano. This charming village offers a picturesque setting for the first race lunch amidst Apennine landscapes.
In the afternoon, participants enter Basilicata via Potenza before heading south near Puglia's border. The day concludes in Matera with an exclusive city tour and an overnight stay among its famous Sassi, recognised as a World Heritage Site.
Puglia's Architectural Marvels
Saturday's route leads into Puglia with a stop at Alberobello's Trulli before lunching in Andria. In the afternoon, competitors visit Castel del Monte, another UNESCO-listed site known for its medieval architecture. The day ends as they pass Molfetta and reach Bari's finish line.
Entries for this event close at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 18 March 2025. A maximum of 40 historic and modern cars will be accepted into this prestigious race. Acceptance notifications will be sent by 21 March.
