Inaugural 1000 Miglia Classic Car Event To Launch In China This November
Beijing, 16 May 2024 - A packed hall at the Italian Embassy in Beijing today hosted the presentation of the first edition of the 1000 Miglia Experience China. The event, scheduled from 14 to 17 November 2024, will bring the Red Arrow to China for the first time. In attendance were Marco Midolo, First Councillor of the Embassy, and Alberto Piantoni, CEO and General Manager of 1000 Miglia.
Piantoni and Francesca Parolin signed a licence agreement with representatives of the Federation Classic Car China. This agreement will see the Federation organise the event for the next two years. The 1000 Miglia Experience China 2024 will take place in Guangdong province, specifically in the Canton (or Guangzhou) area.
The event will feature six different classes of cars, starting with those from the 1000 Miglia Era class. This class includes cars and models that participated in the original 1000 Miglia speed race held between 1927 and 1957. During the presentation, one of Canton's most representative buildings was illuminated with symbols of the 1000 Miglia and the upcoming event.
Entries for the event will open shortly, allowing participants to register their vehicles for this historic occasion. The collaboration between Italian and Chinese organisations highlights a growing interest in classic car culture within China.
