Volkswagen Launches New Virtus & Taigun Variants - Prices Start At Rs 16.79 Lakh
German carmaker Volkswagen has launched new variants of the Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV in India. Volkswagen also launched new colour options for both cars as part of the GT Edge Limited Collection.
The Volkswagen Virtus Sedan now features a manual version of its GT Plus trim level. Dubbed the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus MT, this version of the sedan is priced at Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Volkswagen Taigun, on the other hand, gets two new variants, adding the DSG gearbox to the GT trim level and the manual gearbox to the GT Plus version. The Taigun GT DSG is priced at Rs 16.79 lakh while the Taigun GT Plus MT commands a price tag of Rs 17.79 lakh.
The addition of the three new trim levels to VW's two most affordable cars in India means that customers in India now have more options to choose from with the more powerful 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.

Speaking of the engine, all three new variants launched today feature the 1.5 TSI engine in the same state of tune - 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque, all of which is sent to the front wheels.
Volkswagen also launched the GT Edge Limited Collection for the Taigun & Virtus which gives both cars snazzy new paint jobs which cost a bit extra.

The VW Virtus GT Plus MT & GT Plus DSG variants are offered with a new Deep Black Pearl paint scheme. The Virtus GT Plus MT in the shade is priced at Rs 17.09 lakh while the Virtus GT Plus DSG in Deep Black Pearl asks you to drop Rs 18.76 lakh at the dealership.
The same variants of the Taigun are offered in two colour options - Deep Pearl Black & Carbon Steel Grey Matte. The Taigun GT Plus MT is priced at Rs 17.99 lakh while the GT Plus DSG commands a price tag of 19.25 lakh when painted in Deep Pearl Black.

The Carbon Steel Grey version of the Taigun GT Plus MT is offered up at Rs 18.19 lakh while the DSG version commands a price tag of Rs 19.45 lakh.
Thoughts About The New Volkswagen Virtus & Taigun Variants
The VW Group has set about pushing out the new variants it announced at its India brand conference which allow customers to choose between more trim levels and gearbox options for the Virtus and Taigun fitted with the 1.5-litre TSI engine.
