Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition launched in India at Rs 16.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition is based on the GT Edge variant of the SUV and doesn't cost any more than the version it is based on.
Admirers of the Taigun looking to up their game can book the Trail Edition of the compact SUV exclusively online at Volkswagen India's website. Deliveries of the Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition will start in December.
So what does the Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition get over the regular mid-spec GT Edge variant? Well, like other limited-run versions of most cars in India, the changes to the Trail Edition are mainly cosmetic.
The Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition sports Black Belmont alloy wheels, black ORVMs with red garnish, functional roof rails, trail-inspired graphics on the sides, black-coloured door garnish, and a Trail Edition badge at the rear.
Step inside and the changes are harder to discern. The seats sport a black theme with contrast red stitching and piping along with the word Trail embossed on them, sporty pedals and puddle lamps.
The biggest upgrade on the Trail Edition comes in the form of the two-way dashcam that can record things both on the road ahead and inside the SUV's cabin. The dashcam also sports an in-built 5.08 cm IPS LCD display and has a 140° Ultra-Wide Viewing Angle for the front camera.
In terms of colour options, the Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition comes with three exterior colour options - Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey.
The Taigun Trail Edition offers the same powertrain option as the variant that it is based on. The 1.5-litre BS6 Phase 2-compliant engine produces 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. The Trail Edition is only offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
