The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the best-selling SUVs in the country, and it comes with a long feature list including ADAS tech. That being said, many videos of people misusing the ADAS tech in the Mahindra XUV700 have surfaced online.
Now, a new video of Mahindra XUV700 user misusing the ADAS tech has gone viral. In this viral video, we can see the Mahindra XUV700 SUV driver sleeping when the vehicle is driving itself on the highway with the help of ADAS tech.
To make matters worse, the driver of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV can be seen keeping his feet on the dashboard - A very dangerous position to be in if an accident occurs.
In the viral video, we can also see that the person sitting on the front passenger seat is absolutely terrified by the charade put on by the Mahindra XUV700 driver.
Coming to the dangers involved, keeping legs on the dashboard is comparable to welcoming an accident as the driver is highly unlikely to apply the brakes on time to avoid an accident. On top of that, in case of an accident, the force of airbags could cause fatal injuries to the driver.
Also, the passenger sitting on the front seat could suffer serious facial injuries due to the driver's legs swinging at high speed from the force of the deployed airbag. Also, the resulting injuries to the passenger and driver could sometimes be fatal as well.
That being said, such videos are made to become popular on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. However, such dangerous stunts are not worth the 'Instant Fame' on social media.
Thoughts About ADAS Misuse In India
Nowadays more cars in India come with ADAS tech on the higher-spec variants, and some people try to show off these tech by doing such silly stunts to gain social media followers. This is not only dangerous but also urges other people to do such stunts.
Not punishing or promoting such acts will normalise the mistake and more people are likely to do these types of dangerous stunts in the future. As such, it is the responsibility of the government to find such people and punish them according to the law.
