Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Spotted Testing In India – Everything We Know So Far
The Mahindra Scorpio N pickup has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time. This is a clear hint that Mahindra is planning to introduce this model in the Indian market. However, we are not sure when Mahindra will launch this model in India.
Internally codenamed Z121, the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N pickup will come with a much longer wheelbase than the Scorpio N SUV. In fact, we expect this upcoming pickup to have a wheelbase of more than 3 metres. In comparison, the Scorpio N SUV sports a wheelbase of 2,600mm.

This added wheelbase is expected to give the upcoming pickup version of the Mahindra Scorpio N a lot more usable loading bay. It is also worth mentioning that the viral video features the double-cab version of the upcoming Scorpio N pickup.
Analysing the spied video, the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N pickup features fixed side footsteps. Moreover, we expect this test mule to be still in its initial stages of development. That being said, we expect the final model to feature a new front grille, a sunroof and other features as well.
When launched, the upcoming pickup version of the Mahindra Scorpio N could give some serious competition to the likes of the Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux double-cab pickup SUVs in India.
In terms of powertrain, we expect the upcoming pickup version of the Mahindra Scorpio N to be powered by the same 2.2-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel engine. This engine in the standard Scorpio N SUV is tuned to produce 172.5bhp and 400Nm of peak torque.

Additionally, the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N pickup is also expected to be offered with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. We also expect the '4Xplore' four-wheel-drive system to be part of the standard equipment along with front and rear locking differentials.
Thoughts About The Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup
Though Mahindra is yet to confirm the arrival of the Scorpio N pickup, testing of the model on Indian roads is a clear indicator that the automaker intends to launch this model in India. When launched, we expect this upcoming model to give tough competition to dual-cab pickup SUVs in India.
