Toyota Rumion Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 10.29 Lakh
Toyota Rumion launched at Rs 10.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The Toyota Rumion is the badge-swapped version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and deliveries of the new MPV will start on September 8, 2023.
The Toyota Rumion is offered in three trim levels - S, G & V. The S & V trims are offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes with the S also offered in CNG guise.

The Toyota Rumion like the Ertiga it is cloned off is offered with a single, naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder, 1.5-litre engine that runs on both petrol and CNG. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual (petrol & CNG) or a 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission (petrol only) that sends power to the front wheels.
In petrol guise, the Toyota Rumion's engine produces 102bhp and 137Nm of peak torque. When paired with the manual gearbox, the Rumion petrol returns a mileage of 20.51km/l which dips to 20.11km/l with the auto box.
When running on CNG, the out of the Rumion's powerplant drops to 87bhp and 121Nm of peak torque (15bhp and 16Nm down on the petrol model). The Toyota Rumion CNG delivers a mileage of 26.11km/kg.
In terms of design, the only major difference between the Rumion and the Ertiga is the Toyota MPV's new front end. The Toyota's Rumion's front end features a grille that seems to have been inspired by the one on the previous gen Innova Crysta.
The fog lamps on the new bumper of the Rumion feature different surrounds than those on the Ertiga. The Toyota Rumion MPV rides on new dual-tone alloy wheels and sports quite a bit of chrome.
The interiors of the Toyota Rumion MPV feature a seven-seater layout. Most of the cabin is finished in beige with only the dashboard sporting a multi-layered look with different colour options. The infotainment screen is a 7-inch touchscreen unit with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Other features include up to 6 airbags, Toyota i-Connect connected car technology, cruise control, automatic climate control, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts among others.
Thoughts About The Newly Launched Toyota Rumion
The Toyota Rumion is the latest fruit from the badge-swapped union between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota in India. The Rumion, is in essence, a badge-swapped Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with a slightly different front end and should hopefully help drive up Toyota's sales numbers.
