Toyota Hilux Becomes More Affordable – Prices Slashed Up To Rs 3.59 Lakh
Toyota has revised the prices for all variants of the Hilux pick-up SUV in India. However, only the base 'Standard' variant of the Japanese pick-up SUV received the price cut.
As a result, prices for the Toyota Hilux pick-up SUV now start from Rs 30.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This means Toyota has slashed the price for the base 'Standard' variant of the Toyota Hilux pick-up SUV by a whopping Rs 3.59 lakh.
However, it is worth mentioning that the prices for the 'High' trim level of the Toyota Hilux pick-up SUV have been hiked, where the manual variant is now priced at Rs 37.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the automatic variant is priced at Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Also, Toyota has not resorted to removing any features from the standard variant of the model to achieve the updated price tag. However, the base trim does miss out on some features compared to the 'High' variants such as LED headlamps, leatherette seats, auto climate control and a few more.
That being said, the Toyota Hilux 'Standard' variant does come with essential features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker audio system, rear AC vents, cruise control, and steering mounted controls.
Powering the Toyota Hilux is a tried-and-tested 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with 201bhp of peak power and 500Nm of peak torque (Peak torque is limited to 420Nm in the manual variant ). Also, buyers can specify this powertrain with either a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
In addition to that, the Toyota Hilux also features a robust 4WD system with a low-range transfer case, electronic differential locks and a limited-slip differential for improved off-road ability. Toyota also claims that the new Hilux pick-up SUV can wade through 700mm of water.
