Toyota GR Corolla To Be Present At Auto Expo 2023 – 300+Bhp, AWD, 6-Speed Manual Gearbox & More
The upcoming Auto Expo 2023 will be the Japanese car manufacturer's first-ever appearance at the auto show and Toyota is planning to leave a big impression.
As such, Toyota is planning to showcase the GR Corolla hatchback to the Indian audience and here is everything you need to know about the hardcore GR Corolla hatchback that will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.
Starting with the basics, the Toyota GR Corolla is based on the standard Corolla hatchback and comes with a very practical four-door layout that is very practical in day-to-day usage. That being said, the friendliness end there as the designers have made sure that the GR Corolla looks the business.
In fact, the GR Corolla hatchback looks very aggressive with its ginormous front grille, different air intakes, flared wheel arches, gloss black highlights, air ducts, large rear diffuser, aggressive spoiler, and sportier-looking alloy wheels. On the inside, things are less complex with an all-black interior, leather-wrapped GR steering wheel, GR seats, and Aluminium pedals.
However, the real party piece of the GR Corolla is its powertrain. The comparatively tiny 1.6-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine puts out 304bhp of peak power and 370Nm of peak torque. Apart from this, this engine sends power to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching technology.
To make the GR Corolla even more potent, engineers at Gazoo Racing (GR) department have tweaked the chassis by making it even more rigid and responsive as well. Additionally, many lightweight materials have been used in the GR Corolla to keep the power-to-weight ratio on the higher side.
