Toyota FT-3e Concept Teased: A Glimpse Into The Firm's SUVs Of The Future
Toyota is set to revolutionize the automotive industry with its latest concept, the FT-3e electric SUV. The Toyota FT-3e concept will make its official debut at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show.
The FT-3e boasts a stunning exterior design that looks futuristic with its bulky lines on the sides and a curvy rear end that features a full-width LED brake light running across it. More light sources can be seen lower on the rear bumper in the grainy teaser images.
However, the one standout feature that really captured our attention is the digital display running along the lower section of the SUV's front. This innovative display stretches across the width of the lower section of the driver's door.
With this display the driver is able to access essential information such as battery charge, onboard temperature, and interior air quality as he/she approaches the concept SUV.
Other noticeable design highlights of the Toyota FT-3e include the flared wheelarches and what appear to be alloy wheels with aerodynamic bits to help the SUV cut across the air more efficiently.
The concept previews a production SUV that is expected to hit the market in the coming years (sometime in 2026 or beyond), as Toyota looks to get back to the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution.
Weirdly, the new FT-3e SUV from Toyota is not a vehicle that the firm revealed in 2021 when it took the covers off 11 new concept vehicles. It does show that Toyota is committed to ensuring that half of its cars sold by the year 2030 will be from its next-generation EVs which will start arriving in 2026.
Toyota claims that the FT-3e concept vehicle will 'enrich customers' daily lives with new driving experiences and personalized services powered by innovative technologies'. The firm also states the concept SUV also 'acts as a transfer medium for energy and data from the vehicle and its surroundings'.
Not much is known about the electric powertrain that will power the FT-3e but we expect these details to be revealed when the concept SUV makes its debut at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show which kicks off on the 26th of October.

The teaser images of the Toyota FT-3e concept show us what appears to be a rather futuristic-looking SUV that could very well preview where the firm goes with this form of vehicle in the future.
