Lotus Eletre Electric SUV – Top 5 Things You Need To Know
Lotus officially made its entry into the Indian market with the launch of the Eletre electric SUV. So, if you are looking forward to buying this new electric SUV, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the Lotus Eletre.
Variants & Price
The new Lotus Eletre electric SUV is available in three variants, - standard, 'S', and 'R'. The standard-spec Eletre electric SUV is priced at Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom) and the mid-spec Lotus Eletre S is priced at Rs 2.75 crore (ex-showroom).

On the other hand, the top-spec Lotus Eletre R with the more powerful powertrain setup is priced at Rs 2.99 crore (ex-showroom). This makes the new Lotus Eletre get onto the list of most expensive SUVs in India.
Powertrain
The standard-spec and mid-spec Lotis Eletre electric SUVs come with a single electric motor set up with 603bhp and 710Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, these models come equipped with a large 112kWh battery pack.

Unlike the base and mid-spec models, the top-spec Lotus Eletre R uses a dual electric motor setup. In combined form, these electric motors produce a total of 905bhp and 985Nm of peak torque. This model also utilises the same 112kWh battery pack.
Performance
According to the manufacturer, the top-spec Lotus Eletre R is the world's fastest dual-motor pure electric SUV with a top speed of 265 km/h. Furthermore, the Lotus Eletre R can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.95 seconds.

On the other hand, the lower-spec Eletre models seem to be traction-limited due to the RWD setup. As such, 0-100km/h sprint takes 4.5 seconds. That being said, the top speed stands in excess of 250km/h.
Range & Charging
Thanks to the large 112kWh battery pack, the Lotus Eletre and Eletre S models can travel up to 600 kilometres on a full charge, whereas the Lotus Eletre R with its dual-motor setup is slightly less efficient, but it can still travel up to 490 kilometres on a full charge.
Despite the use of a large battery pack in the Lotus Eletre range of electric SUVs, the models can charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes using Rapid Charger. This shows how much battery technology has grown in the last few years.
Technology
The Lotus Eletre comes with its own operating system, the Lotus Hyper OS. Additionally, Lotus is using 'Unreal Engine' technology from the gaming industry coupled with state-of-the-art processing power with its two Qualcomm 8155 System-On-Chips.
Some of the noteworthy features include fully customisable displays, hosted on an advanced Driver Information Module (DIM), and ultra-slim floating one-billion-colour 15.1-inch FHD OLED touchscreen for more realistic graphics.
The higher-spec Eletre electric SUV includes numerous additional features such as an active rear spoiler, configurable ambient lighting, illuminated side sills, soft close doors, auto-dimming side mirrors, an air quality system, and a 2,160watt 23-speaker KEF audio unit.
