Hyundai Motor India recently launched the updated Hyundai Alcazar with a new turbocharged petrol engine, and here are the top 5 things you should know about this new 3-row SUV.
Engine: The new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine replaces the 2.0-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Furthermore, the new engine produces 157.8bhp of peak power and 253Nm of peak torque, which is 1bhp and 62Nm more than the older 2.0-litre unit.
In addition to that, the new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine is compliant with the upcoming BS6 Phase II emission regulations and it is also compatible with E20 fuel. Other than that, gearbox options include a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT unit.
Fuel Efficiency: Thanks to the new powertrain, the Hyundai Alcazar 1.5 Turbo is capable of delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 18km/l when equipped with a 7-speed DCT unit. However, the fuel efficiency figure drops by 0.5km/l for the variant equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission.
Variants & Seating Layout: The new Hyundai Alcazar 1.5 Turbo is available in 5 trim levels - Prestige, Platinum, Platinum (O), Signature, and Signature (O). Out of these 5 trim levels on offer, Platinum (O), and Signature (O) trim levels come exclusively with 6 seat layout.
New Safety Features: The new 2023 Hyundai Alcazar comes with even more safety features and some of the note-worthy safety systems in the updated 3-row SUV include 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and rear disc brakes.
Price: In terms of pricing, the new Hyundai Alcazar 1.5 Turbo range starts from Rs 16.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base petrol variant and goes all the way up to Rs 20.25 lakh for the top-spec petrol variant of the SUV.

Thanks to the updated powertrain, we expect the Alcazar 1.5 Turbo to be not only more efficient and less polluting, but the additional torque from the turbocharged engine will help the SUV perform better, especially under heavier loads.
