Tata Tiago EV Deliveries Commence – Long-Range Models Prioritised

Tata Motors have commenced the deliveries of the Tiago EV electric hatchback across India and the company claims that it had delivered 2,000 units of the electric hatchback across 133 cities.

Apart from that, it is also worth mentioning that Tata Motors set a new booking record for EVs as the company managed to bag 10,000 bookings in just one day. That being said, the company has received a total of more than 20,000 bookings for the Tiago EV.

At present, the Tata Tiago EV is priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the booking amount for the EV is capped at Rs 21,000. It is also worth mentioning that these prices are introductory prices and it is valid only for the first 10,000 customers of the Tiago EV hatchback.

Speaking about the new Tata Tiago EV, the electric hatchback is available with two powertrain options - The base variant of the electric hatchback comes equipped with a 19.2kWh battery pack and an electric motor capable of producing 60bhp of peak power and 105Nm of peak torque.

On the other hand, the higher variants of the electric hatchback are powered by a more powerful electric motor producing a healthier 74bhp of peak power and 114Nm of peak torque. In addition to that, these variants also come equipped with the larger 24kWh battery pack as well.

In terms of range, Tata Motors claims that the Tata Tiago EV equipped with the larger 24kWh battery pack can do 315km on a single charge, whereas the base variant can do 250km on a single charge. In terms of performance, the Indian car maker claims that the electric hatchback can hit 60km/h from a standstill in just 5.7 seconds.

Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent of its battery capacity in just 57 minutes using a suitable DC fast charger, claims Tata Motors. Apart from the standard 3.3kW AC charger, Tata Tiago EV 'XZ+' and 'XZ+ Tech LUX' customers can opt a faster 7.2kW AC charger by paying extra money, and this charger takes just 3 hours and 36 minutes to charge to full capacity.

In terms of features, the newly launched Tata Tiago EV electric hatchback comes equipped with features such as a large 7-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 8-Speaker Harman audio system, ZConnect telematics, multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, 2 drive modes, 4 regen modes and much more.
