Tata Tiago 5 Lakh Units Sales Milestone Achieved – 1 Lakh Units Sold In Last 15 Months
Tata Motors recently announced that the Tiago hatchback has achieved the 5 lakh units sales milestone. Out of this, 60 per cent of the Tata Tiago's sales came from urban markets, whereas the rest of the 40 per cent sales was contributed by rural markets.
That being said, the Tata Tiago hatchback took some time to gain traction in the hatchback segment. However, sales started booming when the model bagged a 4-Star safety rating from Global NCAP back in 2020.

Since then, Tata Motors managed to consistently improve the sales figures of the Tata Tiago hatchback in the Indian automobile market. In fact, 1 lakh units of the Tata Tiago hatchbacks were sold in the last 15 months.
Commenting on the milestone, Vinay Pant, Head-Marketing of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. said, "The Tiago has played a pivotal role in bolstering the popularity of our New Forever range since its launch. The Tiago has consistently surpassed expectations by offering discerning customers good styling, unrivalled safety standards, state-of-the-art technology".

It is also worth mentioning that the Tata Tiago hatchback is available with petrol, CNG, and electric powertrains. This wide range of powertrain options ensures that the Tata Tiago hatchback appeals to a wider range of audience in the country.
The petrol version of the Tata Tiago hatchback is powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. This powertrain can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT unit.

On the other hand, the CNG version of the Tata Tiago hatchback uses a modified version of the above-mentioned engine. However, this engine in the CNG mode puts out just 72bhp and 95Nm of torque. Furthermore, the Tata Tiago i-CNG comes exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Finally, the Tata Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options. The Tata Tiago EV with the smaller 19.2kWh battery pack offers a range of 250 kilometres, whereas the variant with the bigger 24kWh battery pack gives it a claimed range of 315 kilometres.
