Tata Power & Zoomcar Collaborate To Drive Electric Vehicle Adoption in India!
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL) and Zoomcar have joined forces to promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Mumbai, with the aim of delivering a user-friendly charging experience to EV users across the country.
Under this collaboration, Tata Power's EZ Charge points will be integrated into the Zoomcar platform, benefiting both existing and potential EV owners. By providing valuable insights into Tata Power's extensive network of charging points, customers will have easy access to streamline the EV charging process and overcome common challenges.

This partnership is expected to encourage more people to list their EVs on Zoomcar's platform and attract potential customers. Tata Power boasts an impressive EV charging infrastructure called EZ Charge, which includes over 50,000 home chargers, 4370+ public and semi-public charging points, as well as 250 bus-charging points across the country.
The company plans to establish 25,000 additional charging points within the next five years to further support sustainable mobility growth in the country. On the other hand, Zoomcar operates a technology-driven car-sharing platform with over 20,000 cars available in India, Indonesia, and Egypt.
Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power expressed his excitement about this collaboration as it contributes to accelerating India's green mobility transition. He emphasized that Tata Power aims to develop a technologically advanced and robust EV ecosystem by collaborating with industry partners such as Zoomcar.
Mr. Greg Moran, CEO & Co-Founder of Zoomcar also shared his enthusiasm for partnering with Tata Power given their leadership position in the field of EV charging solutions. He highlighted that Zoomcar strives to be at the forefront of creating innovative solutions for shaping the mobility industry.
With their car-sharing platform being well-suited for electric vehicles, Zoomcar expects to have 50% of their platform dedicated to EVs by 2025. This partnership is poised to create a comprehensive ecosystem that caters to the evolving needs of EV enthusiasts.
Tata Power offers end-to-end EV charging infrastructure solutions for India's growing EV ecosystem, including public and captive charging points. Their customized solutions encompass software subscription services, a mobile app, charger hardware, power supply, and backend infrastructure.
The Tata Power EZ Charge Mobile App enables users to locate EV charging stations within their network. In July 2023, Tata Power launched an RFID card that allows EV users to initiate charging by tapping the EZ CHARGE RFID card on any EZ charger across the country. This initiative aims to enhance the seamless experience of using EV chargers.
