Tata Nexon Reaches 5 Lakh Production Milestone - A New Benchmark
Tata Motors has announced that the company has successfully rolled out 5 lakh units of Tata Nexon SUV. In fact, it took Tata Motors less than 6 years to achieve this milestone.
Looking back, Tata Motors commenced the production of the Tata Nexon SUV back in September 2017, and the first 1 lakh unit production milestone was achieved in 22 months and the 2 lakh unit production milestone was achieved in another 23 months.
Post that, the demand for Tata Nexon quickly shot up and it took just 8 more months for Tata Motors to reach the 3 lakh unit production milestone, and another 7 months to complete the 4 lakh unit production milestone.
Speaking about the Tata Nexon, the sub-4m SUV from Tata Motors is among the safest SUVs in its segment with a 5-star safety rating for adult occupant protection by Global-NCAP. In fact, the Tata Nexon is the first Indian SUV to score a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP.
At present, the Tata Nexon SUV is one of the best-selling SUVs in the Tata Motors lineup as more people have started to appreciate the high crash safety standards of the company.
The Tata Nexon is powered by two engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 118bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, diesel engine produces 108bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox.
At present, prices for the Tata Nexon start from Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol variant and goes all the way up to Rs 14.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the XZA+ Luxs Red #Dark trim with diesel engine and AMT gearbox.
