Tata Motors November 2023 Sales Report: Y-o-Y Sales Show Minimal Increase
India's third largest carmaker Tata Motors reported a minimal 0.05 per cent increase (21 units) in Y-o-Y sales in November 2023. Tata Motors sold 46,058 passenger vehicles last month compared to the 46,037 units sold in November 2022.
Month-over-Month metrics, on the other hand, were in the red for Tata's domestic PV sales. Tata's M-o-M numbers dropped by 2,279 units or 4.71 per cent compared to the 48,337 units the carmaker sold in October 2023.

Exports of passenger vehicles by Tata Motors dropped by 81 per cent (313 units) with the nation's third-largest carmaker only exporting 75 vehicles last month. Tata Motors exported 388 vehicles in November 2022.
The passenger vehicle business of Tata Motors shipped out a total of 46,143 units when domestic and exports are tallied up together. These overall sales were down by 282 units or around 1 per cent compared to the 46425 units sold in November 2022.

Tata electric vehicles accounted for over a tenth of the vehicles the carmaker sold in November 2022. Tata which currently makes three EVs - Nexon EV, Tiago EV and Tigor EV - sold a total of 4,761 electric vehicles last month (including exports). EV sales rose by 310 units or nearly 7 per cent compared to November 2022's 4,451 units.
Tata's commercial vehicle business was also in the red for November 2023, dropping by around 3.52 per cent or 1,024 units Y-o-Y to 28,029 units. Tata sold a total of 29,053 commercial vehicles (domestic + export) in November 2022.

Domestic sales of Tata's commercial vehicles accounted for 26,579 of the total units sold last month. Domestic sales of Tata's commercial vehicles were down by 851 units or 3.1 per cent Y-o-Y compared to the 27,430 CVs sold by the automaker in November 2022.
Commercial vehicle exports were also in the red dropping to 1,450 units last month. Tata's commercial vehicle exports dropped by 10.6 per cent or 173 units Y-o-Y compared to the 1,623 units exported in November 2022.
Thoughts About The Tata Motors Sales Report For November 2023
Tata's November numbers remained stagnant compared to the same period in 2022. However, EV sales continue to be good for the nation's largest passenger EV manufacturer which is readying a few more that will hit our roads soon.
