Tata Curvv SUV To Be Renamed ‘Azura’ – Available In ICE & EV Versions
Tata Motors recently trademarked the name 'Azura'. We expect this newly trademarked name to be used for the production version of the recently showcased Tata Curvv Concept SUV.
Speaking about the Tata Curvv, the Concept SUV attracted a lot of attention to itself at the Auto Expo 2023 with its stylish coupe-like design. Furthermore, much like the Tata Nexon facelift, the Tata 'Azure' is expected to sport a very futuristic-looking interior.

That being said, Tata Motors is expected to launch the electric version of the Tata Azura SUV by the second half of 2024. Also, this upcoming SUV is expected to feature Tata's advanced Gen2 electric powertrain which will make its debut with the upcoming facelifted version of the Nexon EV.
With this next-generation electric powertrain setup, the upcoming electric version of the Tata Azura electric SUV is expected to have a claimed range of more than 450 kilometres on a full charge. The model is also expected to feature an AWD setup option as well.

Tata Motors is also developing an internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Tata Azura SUV. However, this ICE version of the Azura SUV is expected to be launched after the launch of the electric version of the Azura SUV.
Moreover, its been widely rumoured that the ICE version of the Tata Azura SUV would be launched in 2025 and the model will make its first public appearance in 2024 itself. This means, Tata Motors is likely to launch both the electric and ICE versions of the Tata Azura SUV.
When launched we expect the ICE version of the Tata Azura SUV to compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and other C-Segment SUVs. Also, the upcoming Tata Azura EV is expected to compete against the likes of MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric.
It is also said that the ICE version of the upcoming Tata Azura SUV to come with an all-new 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine with around 125bhp and 225Nm of torque. On top of that, the model is also expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine option.
The latter is also expected to power the upcoming petrol versions of the Tata Safari and Harrier SUVs. This engine is expected to produce 168bhp and 280Nm of torque. However, in the upcoming Tata Azura, expect this powertrain to be slightly detuned.
Thoughts: We expect the upcoming Tata Azura SUV to contribute significantly to the overall sales volume of Tata Motors. This will help Tata Motors compete better against Hyundai for the second spot in terms of overall passenger car sales.
