Tata Altroz Racer Could Be Launched Soon – More Power, Segment-First Features & More
Tata Motors showcased the sportiest iteration of the Altroz hatchback, the Altroz Racer at the Auto Expo 2023, and the model received a lot of attention from the general public and media.
That being said, Tata Motors may soon launch the Altroz Racer in the Indian market and here's everything you need to know about the sportiest version of the Altroz premium hatchback.
Exterior Design
Starting with the design, the Altroz Racer sports an almost identical bodywork to the regular Altroz hatchback except for a more prominent-looking rear spoiler and a new electrically adjustable sunroof. Other changes include a dual-tone colour scheme consisting of a black paint job on the upper half of the body including the bonnet and blacked-out treatment on headlights, front grille and alloy wheels.
Interior Design
On the inside, the Tata Altroz sports plenty of red accents and 'Racer' insignia on the headrest along with all-black upholstery with contrasting red stitching. Though these are minor changes, the overall effect it has on the hatchback is significant enough to attract a few potential buyers.
Features
Other than the new upholstery, the Altroz Racer also gets new features such as a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with slicker interface, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7-inch digital driver's display, wireless phone charger, air purifier, and ventilated front seats.
Powertrain
Powering the Tata Altroz Racer is the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged, petrol engine that powers the Altroz Turbo, but it is tuned slightly differently to produce 118.3bhp of peak power at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm. In addition to the uprated powertrain, the Altroz Racer also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of a 5-speed unit.

In terms of specifications, the Tata Altroz Racer looks very promising and a worthy rival to the Hyundai i20 N Line. Though Tata is being tight-lipped about its intention to launch the model in the Indian market, sources say that the Indian automaker may soon launch the Altroz Racer and we expect the model to be a successful product.
