Scrapping a car with CARS24 also offers financial benefits to customers, with scrap values ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 1 Lakh. Furthermore, CARS24's initiative offers additional financial advantages. Car owners planning to buy a new vehicle can use the Certificate of Deposit (COD) to save up to 25 per cent on road tax.
This benefit can translate to savings of Rs 50,000 or more on a new car. Interestingly, the COD also doubles as a tradable asset that customers can sell for a significant amount if they decide not to buy a new car.
Contributing To Environmental Sustainability
Beyond the financial incentives, CARS24's Vehicle Scrapping initiative significantly contributes to the environment. Scrapping a single vehicle eliminates emissions equivalent to those produced by 11 new vehicles. This initiative is an eco-friendly choice equivalent to planting 1,650 trees, making a significant impact on reducing harmful emissions and promoting a cleaner and greener future.
The Vehicle Scrapping initiative offers several societal and economic benefits. It can result in a 15-20 per cent reduction in carbon emissions and contribute to better road safety. The initiative also has the potential to stimulate auto sector sales, generate employment, and contribute to the circular economy by increasing the availability of low-cost raw materials.
