Skodas Enyaq iV: The Future of Electric Cars Spotted Testing in India
Skoda's recent launch of the Enyaq iV marks a pivotal moment in the automobile industry. As the Czech car manufacturer's foremost production model built on the modular electric car platform (MEB) of the Volkswagen Group, the Enyaq iV is the latest enhancement in Skoda's E-Mobility game plan.
With its rear- or all-wheel drive, the Skoda Enyaq iV provides a range fitting for day-to-day use, covering up to 510 km in the WLTP cycle. It's a spacious vehicle, true to the Skoda brand. Adding to its charm, the car features an entirely new interior design, offering Design Selections rather than the traditional trim levels, and revamping the structure of the available options. What's even more exciting for enthusiasts is the exclusive Enyaq iV Founders Edition, limited to just 1,895 units, celebrating Skoda impressive 125-year journey.

Thomas Schäfer, Skoda Auto CEO, couldn't hide his excitement, "The launch of the Enyaq iV sees the start of a new era for Skoda. This is our first all-electric car to be based on the MEB platform. By launching this model, we are making E-Mobility Simply Clever – with long ranges, quick charging, ease of operation and affordable prices."
The exclusive and thoroughly outfitted Founders Edition, limited to only 1,895 units, pays tribute to Skoda's rich history and its 125-year-old founding. It features a Founders Edition badge adorning the multifunction leather steering wheel, confirming its inclusion in the limited range. Expect the deliveries to start by spring 2021.
The Enyaq Founders Edition boasts an illuminated radiator grille and 21-inch alloys. Specific to the Founders Edition and the Enyaq RS iV is a Crystal Face, composed of a crystalline-look front illuminated by 130 LEDs. The Founders Edition is also available in two engine/battery variants and two colours and offers sporty front and rear aprons with sustainably tanned leather.
The powertrain is entirely electric and exploits all that the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform offers. It comprises three battery sizes, five power outputs from 109 to 225 kW and rear- or all-wheel drive, making the Enyaq iV a suitable everyday vehicle. New safety assistance systems like Travel Assist and remote-controlled parking have also been introduced. On the connectivity front, the ENYAQ iV astounds with its 13-inch central screen and intelligent online connectivity. Functions like battery charging and Air conditioning can be remotely controlled via the ŠKODA Connect app.
In line with Skoda's Simply Clever solutions, exclusive features for electric vehicles have been introduced like a cleaner for the charging cable, a protective cap for the charging socket, and a compartment for the charging cable under the boot floor. The new centre console arranged over two levels provides ample of space and lucidity. Charging is also made effortless through the Powerpass and the ŠKODA iV wall box for at-home charging.
