Range Rover EV Teased: Waiting List Open For Upcoming Luxury Electric SUV
British SUV specialist Land Rover has teased the arrival of the first-ever Range Rover EV. Land Rover has opened up the waiting list for the Range Rover EV though pre-orders will only start sometime in 2024.
The Range Rover EV has begun its prototype testing phase. This signals the start of rigorous testing that will see the upcoming Range Rover EV being put through its paces in conditions ranging from sub-zero conditions to hot deserts, ensuring it meets Land Rover's standards for performance, durability, and safety.
Five teaser images of the Range Rover EV have been released to the public by Land Rover along with a single short video. These images and video show off what certain sections of the upcoming EV will look like when it hits the roads.
The grille seen in the teaser video looks a lot more flush with the rest of the body and mostly closed off while the electric SUV's wheel caps show 'EV' branding to let those who get close enough what powers the upcoming Range Rover.
More images show the tailgate and rear LED lights as well as the electrically operated flap that covers the charging port and the light that indicates the state of charge which also shows the upcoming SUV being charged by a fast CCS charger. Another teaser image shows copper trim on what appears to be the front flanks of the SUV.
Speaking about the upcoming Range Rover EV, Thomas Muller, Executive Director, Product Engineering, JLR said, "We are on target to create the quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created. The magic ingredients that underpin the success of Range Rover remain unchanged: timeless, reductionist design, a serene cabin and go-anywhere capability - but now offered with zero tailpipe emissions.
And as repeated throughout history, the Range Rover will continue to set the standard. The first of its type. An electric luxury SUV that can deliver on the Range Rover promise. A true global luxury product, as yet unseen in the industry."
Land Rover claims that the new Range Rover EV will deliver performance comparable to a flagship Range Rover V8 and will also showcase the all-terrain capability that has made the Range Rover a household name.
The British marque also claims that the new Range Rover EV will be the quietest and most refined Range Rover ever created, with a unique active road noise cancellation configuration, sound design and level of cabin comfort.
Thoughts About The Range Rover EV
The Range Rover EV will be the first SUV bearing Land Rover's flagship nameplate to go down the full electric route. It promises to be the quietest and most refined version of the Range Rover with performance akin to the V8 while retaining the ability to climb every mountain and ford every stream.
