The Pininfarina Battista, the electric hypercar built by the Mahindra-owned Italian automotive firm has broken the world records for the fastest standing quarter and half miles by a production car at the Natrax facility
The Pininfarina Battista, the electric hypercar built by the Mahindra-owned Italian automotive firm has broken the world records for the fastest standing quarter and half miles by a production car at the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) facilities near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
The Pininfarina Battista is the first luxury electric hypercar from the Italian marque that is owned by Mahindra. The electric hypercar once again underscored its sprinting prowess at the National Test Tracks facility which may just be the only place in the country where the Battista can unleash its full potential.

The Pininfarina Battista draws power from a 120kWh fast-charging battery pack provided by Rimac. The Battista's battery pack powers four electric motors (one on each wheel) that deliver a total of 1,877bhp and 2,340Nm of peak torque.
For the testing process at NATRAX, Pininfarina equipped the Battista with sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres. Once underway the Pininfarina Battista blasted its way into the record books as verified by the VBOX data. The Battista completed the standing quarter mile in just 8.55 seconds with the half-mile also falling to the Italian hyper-GT which completed the distance in just 13.38 seconds.

The Pininfarina Battista also broke the record for the fastest road-legal car ever on Indian soil during the testing process when it hit a speed of 358.03km/h. The previous record was 322km/h.
The top speed run at the National Test Tracks facility was conducted on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and also helped the Pininfarina Battista claim the record for the fastest electric car ever tested in India. The top speed runs were verified by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), India's governing body for motorsports which is affiliated with the FIA.

This is not the first time the Battista has entered the record books. The Battista demolishes the 0-100km/h sprint with a time of 1.86 seconds with the Italian hyper-GT going from 0-200km/h record in just 4.75 seconds. The Battista also holds the record for the fastest-braking electric vehicle in the world, going from 100-0km/h in just 31 metres.
Speaking about the record-setting runs at NATRAX, Paolo Dellachà, Automobili Pininfarina CEO said: "We were very proud to bring Battista to India for the first time. Collaborative events there with our shareholder Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd were delivered at a significant time for Automobili Pininfarina. In 2022 we began production of Battista at our new Atelier facility in Italy, with deliveries to customers worldwide starting soon after."
"This year, new Battista owners are excited to explore the unprecedented performance of this design and engineering masterpiece. These speed records - and independent tests - have validated our ambition to create a new generation of hyper and luxury car leading with Battista, whereby electric power delivers performance that is simply unachievable in the world of ICE powertrains."
