Nissan Z Nismo Revealed - Reborn Sports Car Goes Down The In-House Tuning Route
All-new Nissan Z Nismo sports car revealed. The sportier version of the reborn Nissan Z sports updates from the Japanese carmaker's Nismo performance arm which have transformed it into a sports car with even more power as well as a host of track-focused upgrades.
The Nissan Z Nismo also sports cosmetic updates in addition to the performance upgrades including an updated front end that sports the firm's Grand Nose which stretches the front end of the sports car even further forward.

Also seen in the front is what Nissan claims is the thinnest grille that they have put on a production car to date. The flicks on the front end help improve the overall downforce of the sports car.
The downforce levels are further aided by the three-piece boot lid spoiler. The Z Nismo's spoiler is taller and wider than the one on the regular Z. The Z Nismo rides on 19-inch gloss black Rays alloy wheels draped in Dunlop high-performance tyres.

So what has changed under the bonnet of the Z Nismo? Well, the Nissan Z Nismo's twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine that pushes 420bhp and 521Nm of peak torque. This is a 20bhp and 56Nm increase over the standard Nissan Z.
Another place where the new Z Nismo differs from the standard Z is the transmission. The Z Nismo drops the standard car's 6-speed manual gearbox and instead exclusively makes use of the firm's 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Nismo has tweaked the gearbox's responses and the automatic gearbox on Z Nismo downshifts in half the time the one fitted to the regular Z does. The new Nismo Z also sports a new Sport+ driving mode and a more aggressive launch control system.
The chassis has also been strengthened to deal with the extra performance. The Nissan Z Nismo sports front and rear underfloor bracing which helps improve torsional rigidity by 2.5 per cent. Nissan has stiffened the bushings for the front and rear suspension as well as the bushings for the steering.

The brakes have been upgraded with the Nissan Z Nismo sporting 380mm discs at the front and 350mm at the rear. The 19-inch alloys are shod with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 tyres - 255/40 (front) and 285/35 (rear).
Thoughts About The Nissan Z Nismo

The Nissan Z Nismo brings a host to the Japanese firm's reborn sports car that should make it even more fun to drive on the track. We do wish that Nissan would bring the Z Nismo or even the regular Z to India, even if it was in limited numbers, especially with our increasing appetite for performance cars.
