Nissan Magnite EZ Shift & Kuro Edition Unveiled – Launch Soon

In another exciting development in the Indian automobile sector, Nissan unveiled two new additions to their Indian product portfolio - The Nissan Magnite EZ Shift and the Nissan Magnite Kuro edition.

However, Nissan is yet to announce the prices for the newly unveiled Magnite EZ Shift and the Magnite Kuro edition SUVs. That being said, we expect the process for these models to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Nissan Magnite Kuro Edition

The new Nissan Magnite Kuro edition is particularly appealing, essentially serving as an all-black version of the standard Magnite SUV. The exterior of the Kuro edition sports a black finish on various components.

This includes the grille, grille surrounds, skid plate, roof rails, door handles, alloy wheels, and the accents in the headlights. It is also worth mentioning that 'Kuro' in Japanese means 'Black'.

Stepping inside, the all-black theme continues in the Magnite Kuro edition with the roof liner, sun visors, door trims, door handles, steering wheel, and AC vent surrounds all carrying the dark shade.

Exclusive Features In The Magnite Kuro Edition

The new Nissan Magnite Kuro edition is based on the higher-spec XV trim. As a result, this special edition model is equipped with several upmarket features including a wireless charger.

Other noticeable features in the new Nissan Magnite Kuro edition include a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, six-speaker audio system, and much more.

The Nissan Magnite Kuro edition continues to come with two engine options. The base engine is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 98.6bhp and 160Nm of torque.

Nissan Magnite EZ Shift

The unveiling of the Nissan Magnite EZ Shift marks the introduction of the automated manual transmission (AMT) to the Magnite's standard 1.0-litre petrol engine. Until now, the Magnite was offered with just one automatic gearbox - the continuously variable transmission (CVT).

However, this CVT unit comes paired with the turbo petrol engine. The new AMT gearbox will now be available across the entire range of Magnite's variants- XE, XL, XV, and XV Premium.

Price, Availability, & Competition

Bookings for the Magnite Kuro edition opened last month with a token amount of Rs 11,000. Speculations suggest that the Magnite Kuro edition will be launched on October 7 to coincide with the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

At present, the Nissan Magnite SUV is priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, the model faces stiff competition from the Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
