Nissan Unveils Bold New Hyper Adventure Concept: The Electric SUV for Eco-Conscious Adventurers
Japanese carmaker Nissan revealed its second new electric SUV for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. The Nissan Hyper Adventure Concept is designed for the eco-conscious adventurer who is not afraid to take on any terrain.
The Nissan Hyper Adventure is equipped with Nissan's e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, similar to those found in the electric Ariya and the seven-seater X-Trail SUVs.
The system employs two electric motors, one on each axle, offering individual torque and braking control for each wheel allowing it to support a wide range of outdoor adventures comfortably, safely and with a good supply of energy. The wheels and front and rear bumpers are outfitted with crampons, or snow traction gears, to allow the car to drive through snowy areas with power and ease.
A standout feature of the Hyper Adventure is the V2X (vehicle-to-everything) technology. This innovative feature enables the vehicle's substantial battery pack to charge devices, power appliances, supply energy to homes (V2H), or even send surplus power back to the grid (V2G).
Designed with a bold aesthetic, the Hyper Adventure boasts high ground clearance and short overhangs at the front and rear, enhancing approach and departure angles for tackling rough terrains. The robust plastic bumpers and extensive cladding along the sides add an extra layer of protection to the bodywork.
The Nissan Hyper Adventure's exterior design is certainly out there. The Hyper Adventure concept sports some unique features like large gullwing rear doors that open upwards like the Tesla Model X's falcon wing doors.
The mad design continues on the inside with the concept car sporting a steering yoke, a wrap-around screen for the driver and front passenger connects to the bottom of the windshield, serving as a screen with a wide field of view - as if the body of the vehicle is transparent.
Also seen is a rotating rear bench that provides a 180-degree view from the boot - perfect for camping, skiing, or simply enjoying a scenic view. Adding to the camping aesthetic at the rear are the automatic extendable and retractable steps.
The sharp, angular bodywork of the Hyper Adventure aligns with Nissan's recent concept cars, indicating a potential shift towards bolder design language for its future models.
