Next-Generation Maruti Suzuki Swift To Sport Turbocharged Engine – All We Know So Far
Suzuki is already testing the next-generation Swift hatchback and the model is expected to make its international debut in 2024. As such, we can expect the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift to be launched sometime next year.
However, the big news is that the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is likely to sport a turbocharged powertrain. We expect this powertrain to be the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine from the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV.

In the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV, this turbocharged petrol engine is tuned to produce 98.6bhp of power and 147.6Nm of torque. On top of that, the upcoming SUV also comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
At present, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine with 89bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque. Also, this engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

It is also worth mentioning that the Suzuki Swift in international markets is available with two engine options. This includes a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated engine, and a more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 110bhp of power and 160Nm of torque.
From the spied images, the next-generation Suzuki Swift hatchback seems to feature evolutionary design changes, which include design traits such as pulled-back headlamps and strong shoulder lines that neatly merges with the tail lamp.

Other design traits on the next-generation Suzuki Swift include an SUV-like clamshell bonnet, large front grille, DRLs positioned under the headlamps, large ORVMs, lower and wider air intakes, pronounced wheel arches, conventional rear door handles, and large roof-mounted spoiler as well.
Furthermore, the next-generation Swift seems to look a lot more mature in its design with a flatter bonnet and nose section. Along with that, the wheelbase also seems to have been slightly stretched to improve interior space and high-speed stability.
Thoughts About 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift
Given the highly competitive hatchback segment in India, we expect the fourth-generation Swift to be launched very soon on the Indian market following the international launch of the model. On top of that, we expect the next-generation Swift to be a bit more spacious than the outgoing model.
