Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLC – Here’s What Has Changed
The Mercedes-Benz GLC has been one of the more successful models for the German luxury car manufacturer in India. However, sales in recent times have reduced compared to its updated rivals.
To address these dwindling sales figures, Mercedes-Benz will soon launch the new generation Mercedes GLC SUV in India. In fact, the German automaker has already unveiled and commenced bookings for the model in the country.

It is also worth mentioning that the token amount for booking the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is capped at Rs 1,50,000. That being said, here's what has changed the upcoming next-generation Mercedes GLC SUV.
For starters, the upcoming next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is 60mm longer, 21mm narrower, and 4mm lower than its predecessor. As a result, the upcoming model is expected to have better space in the 2nd row, courtesy of its 15mm longer wheelbase.

In terms of design, the new Mercedes GLC SUV looks a lot more leaner and athletic compared to its predecessor. Also, the interior now looks far more modern and mimics the interior of the latest-generation C-Class sedan.
Speaking about interior, noticeable features in the next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV include a large 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, a panoramic sunroof, and many more.

In India, the upcoming next-generation GLC SUV will be available in two variants - GLC 300 4MATIC, and GLC 220d 4MATIC. This means both the variants will come equipped with the automaker's famed '4MATIC' all-wheel-drive system.
It is also worth mentioning that both variants come with mild-hybrid technology to reduce fuel consumption. Also, common to both variants is a new 9-speed automatic gearbox to make the best use of the power and torque from the engine.
The 2.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol engine in the new GLC SUV produces a healthy 254bhp and 400Nm of torque. In comparison, the 2.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel engine puts out 194bhp and 400Nm of torque.
