Next-Gen Renault Duster – 170bhp Engine, LPG Version Also In The Cards
The Renault Duster SUV can be credited for kick-starting the compact SUV segment in India and the model was an instantaneous hit in the country.
The Renault Duster quickly gained popularity in India due to its rugged looks, compliant suspension, and frugal yet punchy powertrain. Furthermore, the model also featured a large boot, that made light work of the airport runs.

However, with the launch of the Hyundai Creta SUV in India, the Renault Duster started losing its market share. By the time Renault realised the weakness of the Duster and the strength of the Hyundai Creta, the South Korean manufacturer had completely captured the market.
To make further damage, emission regulations pushed Renault to ditch diesel engines, while its primary rivals invested more money to make their diesel engines comply with the latest regulations. This pushed the Renault Duster completely out of the radar for most buyers.

Now, Renault is gearing up to reveal their third-generation Duster SUV this November. Also, this model is expected to go on sale in Europe by the first quarter of 2024.
Also, Renault is planning to expand the Duster sales to other continents. This will include countries such as Australia and Brazil. As such, we could expect this new-gen Renault Duster to also make its way to the Indian shores.

Under the hood, the new Renault Duster will be offered with at least 3 engine options. Out of these three engine options, the 1.3-litre Turbo Flex engine is the most powerful of the lost with 170bhp, making it the most powerful Duster SUV.
Also, there will be LPG versions of the new Renault Duster SUV. These LPG versions are extremely popular in countries like Poland. However, we are not sure if this version will make its way to India.
That being said, we expect the next-gen Renault Duster to come with more premium-looking interiors as its predecessor lost ground in India mainly due to its utilitarian-looking interiors. Also, we expect the new Duster to come packed with tech, to compete with the current C-segment SUVs in India.
Thoughts About The Next-Gen Renault Duster
If the new Renault Duster makes its way to India, the French automaker must make sure the model comes packed with tech and premium-looking interiors. Otherwise, the competition is likely to give a tough time to the new Duster SUV.
