New Kia Seltos SUV Bookings Cross 31,000 Units In 1 Month – Check Out All Details
Everybody knew that the new Kia Seltos SUV will be a very successful model in India. So, the obvious question was regarding the magnitude of success. Now, Kia India has announced that the new Seltos SUV has clocked 31,716 bookings within 1 month.
This makes the new Kia Seltos SUV one of the most successful models to be launched in India. In fact, Kia Indian managed to sell more than 5 lakh units of the Seltos SUV since its introduction in India back in 2019.
Looking into details, almost 55 per cent of bookings for the new Seltos SUV have been placed for higher-end trim levels. Also, close to 19 per cent of customers have opted for the newly introduced Peter Olive shade as well.
Commenting on the strong performance of the New Seltos, Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, said, "The commendable performance of the New Seltos can be attributed to both our loyal existing customers and the new members who've embraced the Kia family."
In terms of powertrain, the new 2023 Kia Seltos SUV is offered with three engine options - A naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a turbocharged petrol engine, and a turbocharged diesel engine.
The base engine option continues to be the 1.5-litre, naturally-spirated, petrol engine with 113bhp and 144Nm of peak torque. This engine can be specified with either a 6-speed iMT gearbox or a CVT unit.
On the other hand, the newly introduced 1.5-litre, turbocharged, petrol engine puts out 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. This powertrain comes with two gearbox options - A 6-speed iMT unit or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Finally, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged, diesel engine continues to make its presence felt in the facelifted model without any changes. This engine produces 114bhp and 250Nm of torque, and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic unit.
One of the biggest talking points about the new Kia Seltos SUV is that the model now features Level-2 ADAS tech. This technology includes active safety features such as adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
That being said, the newly launched 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is offered in 18 variants. Moreover, prices for the Kia Seltos facelift SUV range between Rs 10.89 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
Thoughts: The facelifted version of the Kia Seltos SUV turns out to be another success story for Kia India. Moreover, we expect the booking numbers to climb up in the coming months due to the sales push during the festive season.
