MG4 EV XPower Launching Soon: MG EX4 Based On Group B Rally Car To Debut
MG Motor UK recently confirmed the launch of their most powerful production car, the MG4 EV XPower. The XPower will be launched as a high-performance all-electric hatchback and will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which will take place from the 13th of July to the 16th of July.
The MG4 EV XPower provides customers with outstanding power figures and vehicle dynamics, with a strong competitive price. The electric hatchback will be priced at Rs. 38.70 Lakh (£36,495) and bookings will start during the month, too.

MG4 EV XPower's powertrain comes with a dual-motor setup which produces 429.05bhp and 600Nm of peak torque. The XPower sprints from 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, putting it with some of the top-performing cars on the market right now. Also, the hatchback comes with launch control.
On the exterior of the MG4 EV XPower, we see subtle designs, with a uniquely shaped hood and sleek and sharp headlights. Also, the e-hatchback gets orange XPower brake calipers, a dual-tone black roof, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a new racing green shade.

The Commercial Director at MG Motor UK said, "We expect it will appeal to customers looking for a pure performance offering which is the antithesis of the traditionally 'loud' high-performance hatchback. The XPower also retains the generous technology and equipment levels, as well as practical hatchback features, of the award-winning MG4 range."
Delving into detail about the powertrain, the MG4 EV XPower's motors are found in the front and the back, each powering their respective wheels. The electric motor in the front is good for 201bhp, while the motor powering the rear wheels is rated to produce 227bhp.

The MG4 EV XPower comes with a brand new Dynamic Cornering Control System that has never been seen before on any MG vehicle. This system has an electronically locking differential and an Intelligent Motor Control which regulates torque to each wheel allowing improved traction and stability.
In terms of the suspension, the MG4 EV XPower has reworked tuning for the spring and dampers, stiffer anti-roll bars and a more responsive steering system. Also, the suspension has been reworked to provide 25 per cent more stiffness allowing for better handling.
The brakes have been redesigned, too. The XPower comes with ventilated 345mm discs on all 4-wheels. The car sits on 18-inch Bridgestone Turanza tyres which are one of the best in the market. The MG4 EV XPower comes to a standstill from 100km/h in only 33.9 metres.
Along with the MG4 EV XPower, the MG EX4 will be debuting at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The MG EX4 uses the same powertrain as the XPower but is based on the infamous Group B rally car of the 80s, the Metro 6R4. The EX4 will debut as a concept car and will feature unique decals made especially for the Festival of Speed.
Thoughts On The MG4 EV XPower
MG is finally dipping its feet back into the performance segment with the launch of the EV XPower. This hatchback has a very modern look to it but also maintains some aggressive features, living up to its personality.
