MG Comet EV To Be Offered In Multiple Variants – Prices To Be Revealed On 26 April
MG Motor India recently unveiled the new MG Comet EV small electric car and reports suggest that the upcoming 2-door electric car will be offered in multiple variants to suit a wider price bracket.
Also, the leaked information reveals that the upcoming MG Comet EV comes equipped with a 17.3kWh battery pack and a rear-axle-mounted electric motor capable of producing 41.4bhp of power and 110Nm of torque.
Moreover, the upcoming MG Comet EV can charge from 0 per cent to 80 per cent in just 5 hours using a 3.3kW AC charger, and charging to full capacity using the same charger takes an additional 2 hours.
While the MG Comet EV is a very compact electric car measuring just 2,974mm long, 1,505mm wide, and 1,613mm tall, the wheelbase of the upcoming small electric car stands at 2,010mm.
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the MG Comet EV features dual 10.25-inch screens, out of which the touchscreen unit in the middle acts as the infotainment system, whereas the other screen in front of the driver is used for instrumentation.
On top of that, we expect the model to come equipped with features such as multiple airbags, power-folding ORVMs, LED headlights, ambient lighting, connected car tech, automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and more.
It is also worth mentioning that the upcoming MG Comet EV features a two-spoke steering wheel with manual adjustment for the rake. However, we are not sure if the steering comes with an adjustment for reach as well.
That being said, MG Motor India is expected to reveal the prices for the upcoming MG Comet EV small electric on May 26 and we expect the Chinese-owned British automaker to price this upcoming EV around Rs 10 to Rs12 lakh mark.
Furthermore, the upcoming MG Comet EV small electric car does not have any direct rivals in India and the closest rivals are in the form of the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.

We expect the upcoming MG Comet EV to be very successful in India, especially in tier-1 cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad. On top of that, the success of the MG Comet EV in India will spawn a whole new segment of electric cars in the country.
