2023 Mercedes GLE LWB Launched In India - Prices Start At Rs At 96.4 Lakh
2023 Mercedes GLE launched in India. at Rs 96.4 (ex-showroom). The facelifted 2023 Mercedes GLE SUV is offered in long wheelbase (LWB) guise for India and is offered in three variant levels.
The new Mercedes GLE LWB range for India starts with the GLE 300 d 4Matic which is priced at Rs 96.4 lakhs. The next variant is the GLE 450 4Matic which commands a price tag of Rs 1.1 crore while the most expensive version is the GLE 450 d 4Matic which is priced at Rs 1.15 crore (all prices are ex-showroom).
The base GLE 300 d 4Matic is offered in the professional Line trim while the higher-spec 450 4matic and 450 d 4Matic variants are offered in the AMG line trim. All three variants of the facelifted Mercedes GLE now come with 48V mild hybrid tech.
The Mercedes GLE 300 d 4Matic is powered by a turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 265.5bhp and 550Nm of peak torque. The GLE 300 d 4matic sprints from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds and tops out at 230km/h.
The second diesel option is the GLE 450 d 4Matic which is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six producing 366bhp and 750Nm of peak torque. The GLE 450 d 4Matic sprints from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds and tops out at 250km/h.
The lone petrol version of the facelifted GLE SUV is the GLE 450 4Matic. The turbo-petrol on the GLE 450 is a 3.0-litre inline six unit pushing out 381bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. The Mercedes GLE 450 sprints from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds and tops out at 250km/h.
All three versions of the 2023 Mercedes GLE sport the German firm's 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels with the help of Merc's 4matic all-wheel drive system. All three facelifted GLE models also sport a 48V mild hybrid system whose motor adds 20bhp and 200Nm of peak torque when required.
In terms of design, the big change comes with the fact that the 2023 GLE is offered in long wheelbase (LWB) guise in India. Other changes include revised front and rear bumpers, new grille, updated LED headlights and taillights and new alloy wheels.
The interiors of the 2023 Mercedes GLE are mostly unchanged. There is a new steering wheel, the twin displays run the latest MBUX software and the infotainment setup includes a 13-speaker, 590-watt, Burmester surround system.
Other highlights include 4-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a wireless phone charger, a large panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.
The 2023 Mercedes GLE also comes packed with safety gear including 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction and stability control and several Level 2 ADAS features.
