Mercedes Benz Sales Performance In H1: Hammers Their Own Record
Mercedes Benz recorded their best ever numbers in the sales performance in H1. They have a strong selling point which results in turn helps them stay on top in the Indian Luxury Car Market. Not only have they recorded their highest H1 sales, but also their highest Q2 sales as well.
From January to June 2023, Mercedes Benz sold 8,528 units, resulting in a 13% YoY growth. Mercedes' 'Retail of the Future' model helped them achieve this feat with a strong product portfolio and a customer journey experience.
In H1, what made the Mercedes-Benz sales successful was the constant demand for their entry level vehicles and their core vehicles. Mercedes' TEV segment of vehicles, which include the high-end models and AMG models, witnessed a massive growth of 53% YoY in H1. Their BEV segment of cars had a 10x growth with the introduction of the EQB and EQS.
H1 saw the demand of the Mercedes Benz GLS, GLS Maybach, S-Class, S-Class Maybach, and AMG G 63, whereas the LWB E-Class was the highest selling model in India. Amongst the SUVs, the GLE is the highest selling in their fleet followed by the GLA SUV.
Mercedes Benz recorded their best ever Q2 sales in India with 3,831 units solds, resulting in an 8% YoY growth. The demand for their top-end vehicles (TEV) grew by 54% in H1 showing their strong footing amongst luxury car owners.
"Mercedes-Benz continues its strong demand in the Indian market, achieving the best ever H1 and Q2 sales. This record sales performance is driven by high desirability of the brand, an attractive portfolio, increased availability of cars and successful implementation of the 'Retail of the Future' business model," said Santosh Iyer, the Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes Benz India.
He added, "Our focus remains on elevating the customer experience and continuing to grow the Top-End Vehicles that outpace other segments. We are excited about the remaining quarters, having lined up some of the most awaited luxury vehicles for our customers, starting with the New Generation GLC."
Thoughts On Mercedes Benz Sales Performance
Mercedes Benz is taking the luxury car market by storm with their success in the first half of this year. They are outdoing themselves year after year, showing their focus and importance on the Indian Car Market. Also, Mercedes Benz will be launching their new-gen GLC in Q3 of this year.
