Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic Electric SUV Launched In India At Rs 1.39 Crores
Mercedes-Benz launched the new EQE electric SUV in India at Rs 1.39 crores (ex-showroom). This newly launched electric SUV is the German automaker's third EV model in India following the launch of the EQB SUV and the EQS sedan.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV is available in just 1 variant (EQE 500 4Matic) and this variant goes up against other premium electric SUVs such as the Audi Q8 e-Tron, and BMW iX.
Speaking about the new Mercedes-Benz EQE, the electric SUV is underpinned by the same EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform as the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan. As such, the model comes packed with tech and next-gen safety features.
In terms of design, the new Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic electric SUV sports the 'EQ' range's signature swooping surfaces and clean lines - Lending the model with very slippery aerodynamic look. This aero-efficient look is further accentuated with the use of aero-optimised 20-inch wheels and sealed-off grille.
It is also worth mentioning that the new Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic electric SUV is offered in 9 colour options. Moreover, customers can also choose between two interior colour choices - This gives a high degree of flexibility for its customers.
On the inside, the new Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic electric SUV gets a very futuristic 1,410mm wide display panel that can support three individual displays including the digital instrumentation, infotainment unit, and the passenger screen.
Apart from that, the model comes with top-shelf features such as a 25-inch head-up display, massaging seats, a Burmester 3D sound system with 15 speakers, HEPA filter, 4-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, active ambient lighting, and much more.
Some of the important active and passive safety features on the new Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV include 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESC, digital LED headlights, 360-degree surround-view camera, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, park assist and much more.
Coming to the powertrain, the newly launched Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic electric SUV is powered by two electric motors placed over each axle. Together, these electric motors push 408bhp and 858Nm of torque.
Supplying 'juice' to these electric motors is a large 90.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This battery is developed by Mercedes-Benz and the company is offering a 10-year warranty on this battery pack. Moreover, the WLTP range of the model stands at 521 kilometres.
Internationally, the new Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV comes with multiple powertrain options. This includes EQE 350+, EQE 350 4Matic, and the newly launched EQE 500 4Matic. There are also AMG-specific models like the EQE 43 4Matic, and EQE 53 4Matic+.
