Speaking of the hybrid powertrain, the Artura's is also different from that of the hypercars as it is the first McLaren to feature a V6 internal combustion engine. The McLaren Artura's hybrid setup consists of a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 and a single electric motor.

The new 120-degree V6 twin-turbo McLaren engine produces 577bhp and 584Nm of peak torque and revs all the way to 8,500rpm. The axial flux e-motor produces 93.8bhp and 225Nm of peak torque.

The system output from the Artura's hybrid powertrain is rated at 671bhp and 720Nm of peak torque. The Artura sends its power to the rear wheels with the help of an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The McLaren Artura sprints from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds. The Artura hits 200km/h from a standstill in just 8.3 seconds while the top speed of the hybrid supercar is a claimed 330km/h.

The Artura's axial flux electric motor draws power from a 7.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack that weighs just 88 kilogrammes and delivers a range of nearly 31 kilometres on a single charge. The motor also replaces the reverse gear in the Artura.

The McLaren Arutra features the English firm's new carbon-fibre chassis structure, dubbed MCLA. The Artura sports double-wishbone front suspension and a multi-link setup at the rear, all aided by proactive damping control.
