Maserati MC20 Debuts In India – First Unit Delivered
Italian car manufacturer Maserati launched the MC20 supercar a few months back in India at Rs 3.69 Crore (ex-showroom). Now, the first unit of the Maserati MC20 supercar has been delivered to a customer in India.
While the lucky customer enjoys his new ride, let us understand the Maserati MC20 supercar. For starters, the Maserati MC20 supercar uses an all-new 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged, 90-degree V6 petrol engine developed by engineers at Maserati - Which makes it the first powertrain of Maserati in more than 20 years.

While the 3.0-litre V6 engine may seem 'not enough'. In reality, this engine puts out 620.9bhp at 7,500rpm and 730Nm of peak torque between 3,000 to 5,500rpm. On top of that, the redline for this engine has been capped at 8,000rpm.
Dubbed the Nettuno, this engine also comes with some Formula 1-inspired tech such as the use of a passive pre-chamber and two spark plugs - One in the pre-chamber and one in the conventional chamber.

The air-fuel mixture is initially ignited in the pre-chamber by the first spark plug and this resulting explosion spreads throughout the conventional chamber, resulting in a faster fuel burn. This technology makes the Maserati MC20 more fuel efficient without compromising the power output.
Keeping up with the tradition, the Maserati MC20 supercar sends all its power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Though this is likely to make the supercar difficult to drive on the limits, it thankfully comes with a whole host of electronic nannies.

"We are delighted to share that the Maserati MC20 is now available in India and to announce the delivery of the first MC20 in this country renowned for its appreciation of luxury and automotive excellence," said Bojan Jankulovski, General Manager of Australia, ASEAN, and India.
Under the skin, the Maserati MC20 supercar uses a carbon fibre tub and aluminium subframes. This allowed the engineers to keep the weight of the MC20 supercar under 1.5 tonnes with a weight distribution of 59 per cent at the rear and 41 per cent at the front.

Performance-wise, the Maserati MC20 can stand toe-to-toe with any supercar from its segment. In fact, Maserati claims that the MC20 supercar can do a 100km/h sprint from a standstill in under 3 seconds and reach a topspeed in excess of 325km/h.
That being said, the Maserati MC20 supercar does look like a million-dollar hypercar with its low-slung design and smooth-flowing lines. In fact, the Maserati MC20 supercar is among the most beautiful supercars currently you can in India.
