The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a 4X4 SUV and one of the most-awaited cars in India. As such, it quickly gained plenty of momentum in the Indian automobile segment, thanks to automobile and off-road enthusiasts around the country. Specifically designed for the Indian market, the 5-door Jimny SUV offers practicality that surpasses its 3-door counterpart.
With the rise of the digital age, several modifications of the vehicle have emerged on the internet. Today, we bring you the story of a Chennai-based Maruti Suzuki Jimny owner who has invested an astonishing Rs 15 lakh into customizing his newly purchased Maruti Suzuki SUV.
Jimny's Customization Journey
The video of this modified Jimny was shared by Madarasi vlogs on their YouTube channel. The vlog features an in-depth conversation with the Jimny owner about the customizations made to his SUV. The owner, as an admirer of unique and stand-out designs, aspired to modify his Jimny differently from those he had seen before.
Despite taking a test drive of the Mahindra Thar, he was not satisfied and sought a compact, lightweight, and practical 4x4. He eventually decided on the Jimny and began his modification journey, starting with the engine.
Engine & Exterior Modifications
The owner invested in a Stage 2 tune, a full exhaust system, a BMC cold air intake, and added a snorkel to the SUV. He also installed hydraulic struts for easy bonnet lifting. For better sound quality, the bonnet and other body panels have been insulated. The vehicle features an aftermarket front grille, marker lamps, and projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
The original fog lamps have also been replaced. The enhancement continued with the installation of 15-inch Mud Terrain tires with off-road spec steel rims, and the stock suspension was replaced with an Ironman 4x4 Suspension unit to increase ground clearance.
Rear & Interior Modifications
The owner also installed a ladder on the tailgate and opted for G-Wagen-style aftermarket LED tail lamps, giving his Jimny a sturdy, off-road look. The interior of the car was also completely customized. The all-black interior received a fresh coat of Olive Green and Alcantara material.
The dashboard, door pads, steering wheel, and seat covers have all been redesigned in this style. The owner upgraded the speaker system and replaced the original touchscreen infotainment system from Maruti with an aftermarket unit.
Overall, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been revolutionized by these exclusive modifications, setting it apart from other Jimnys seen so far. The owner is delighted with the performance and believes the investment of around Rs 4 lakh on the engine mods, Rs 4 lakh on the interiors, and the remaining on other modifications were well-spent.
