Maruti Suzuki Invicto Launched At Rs 24.79 Lakh - The New Neta Special?

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new Invicto MPV in India. Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Invicto MPV start at Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom). 'Invicto' is derived from the Latin word for undefeated.

The new Maruti Suzuki Invicto is offered in three variant levels. The base Zeta+ (7-seater) is priced at Rs 24.79 lakh, while the Zeta+ (8-seater) commands a price tag of Rs 24.84 lakh. The top-spec Maruti Suzuki Invicto is priced at Rs 28.42 lakh (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom).

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the latest iteration of the badge-swapping agreement currently in place between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki in India. So, in essence, the new Invicto from Maruti Suzuki is a rebadged Toyota Inova Hycross.

Unlike the Innova Hycross, the new Maruti Suzuki Invicto is only offered with one powertrain option, a strong hybrid. The Maruti Suzuki's hybrid setup consists of an Atkinson cycle petrol engine producing and an electric motor with an NIMH battery pack that is paired to an e-CVT gearbox.

The peak power output of the combined hybrid system is limited to 184bhp. 0-100km/h takes 9.5 seconds, while the mileage is 23.24 km/l.

Maruti Suzuki has ensured that the Invicto features the distinct looks of the firm's Nexa lineup. Compared to The Innova, the Invicto features a brand-new grille that sports thick chrome slats connecting the LED headlights to the Suzuki badge.

The headlamps and DRLs, too, have been reworked, as have the front and rear bumpers. The new Invicto rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 212/60 R17 tyres. The new Maruti MPV also features tweaked taillights as well compared to its badge-swapped Toyota sibling.

The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki Invicto feature plush upholstery upping the luxury quotient of the MPV. The multi-layer dash is dominated by the 10.1-inch infotainment unit with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The front seats are ventilated, with the driver's seat featuring 8-way electrical adjustment. The second row features captain seats with ottoman functionality that allows occupants to really stretch out. The Invicto sports black leatherette upholstery, and there are champagne gold inserts on the dash and doors.

The new Maruti Suzuki comes packed with features like a large panoramic sunroof with ambient lighting, a premium audio system, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, a powered tailgate and a wireless phone charger sat atop the glovebox along with the Suzuki Connect suite of connected apps.

The new Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes packed with safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, and reverse parking camera, along with both front and rear parking sensors.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto sees the nation's largest carmaker take the Innova platform and make it its own. However, the lack of ADAS seems to be a bit puzzling, especially at the price point.
