Maruti Suzuki Fronx Vs Brezza – Powertrain, Dimensions & More
Maruti Suzuki is all geared up to launch the Fronx sub-4m SUV this month. As such, here's a quick comparison of the upcoming SUV with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV.
Design: The Maruti Suzuki Brezza looks very conventional yet bold with its boxy design language. In comparison, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV looks nothing like the Brezza SUV, especially with its sloping roofline.
Also, both Maruti Suzuki SUVs feature exterior design elements such as LED headlamps, LED DRLs, two-piece taillamps, chunky squared-off wheel arches, and faux skid plates. However, the Fronx SUV misses out on the fog lamps.
Dimensions: In terms of dimensions, both the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Fronx measure an identical 3,995mm. However, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is slightly wider and taller than the upcoming Fronx SUV.
That being said, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx holds a small advantage over the Maruti Suzuki Brezza in terms of wheelbase as the former holds an additional 20mm of extra space between the front and rear wheels.
Interior: The Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV comes with an almost identical interior to the updated new Baleno hatchback. As a result, it looks slightly more premium than the Brezza's interior despite sporting many common features.
Powertrain: In terms of powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is powered by a 1.5-lite, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder petrol engine with 104bhp of peak power and 137Nm of peak torque. In addition to that, the Brezza SUV can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx will come with two engine options. The base engine option is a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine with 88.5 bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Also, this engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT unit.
The second engine option on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV is a 1.0-litre, Booster Jet (turbocharged) engine with 98.6bhp of peak power and 147.6Nm of peak torque. Other than that, this engine option can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Thoughts About Maruti Suzuki Brezza & Maruti Suzuki Fronx
With the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, it is clear that the Indo-Japanese automaker is looking-forward to dominate the sub-4m SUV segment. That being said, the Fronx SUV looks a lot more premium and we expect it to perform better than Brezza, thanks to its turbocharged engine option.
