Maruti Suzuki Fronx TVC Out – Here’s How It Mocked Other SUVs
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno-based SUV was recently unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx alongside the long-awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
Now, the Indo-Japanese automaker has released the TVC of the Fronx SUV. However, what's interesting is that the Fronx TVC cleverly mocks the 'Boxy' design language of conventional SUVs.
Diving into details, though the newly unveiled Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback, designers have done a commendable job at hiding its hatchback roots and this new TVC calls the Fronx SUV "Shape Of New" and highlights its coupe-like design.
In fact, the silhouette of the new Frox SUV follows a similar outline as other coupe SUVs such as the BMW X6 and this design has historically managed to split opinions. However, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx TVC cleverly positions the Fronx as unique offering among conventional and boxy SUVs in the market.
Some of the design highlights of the Fronx SUV other than the coupe-like silhouette includes split headlamp design with crystal effect LED headlights and DRLs, split LED taillamps with full-width LED lightbar, squared-off wheel arches with all-around black cladding, and a large grille with upright nose section.
Moreover, all these design elements make the Fronx SUV look nothing like the Baleno hatchback on which it is based on. However, on the inside, there is very little to differentiate the Fronx SUV and the Baleno hatchback and it also sports all the goodies from the premium hatchback.
Also, some of the note worthy features in the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx includes a large 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Head-Up Display, wireless phone charger, cruise control, 360-degree surround-view camera, coloured MID display, 6-speaker audio system, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, wireless charger, push button start/stop system, height-adjustable driver's seat, connected car features, footwell illumination, rear AC vents, centre armrest, and much more.
Coming to the powertrain options, the Fronx SUV comes with two engine options, where the base engine option is a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine with 88.5 bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque. Moreover, this engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT unit.
On the other hand, the 1.0-litre, turbocharged engine also marks its return with the Fronx SUV and this engine puts out 98.6bhp of peak power and 147.6Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

With the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV, the Indo-Japanese automaker is looking forward to dominating the sub-4m SUV segment in India. Despite being based on the Baleno hatchback, designers have done a commendable job at making the Fronx SUV very distinguishable and slightly more premium-looking as well.
