Maruti Suzuki recently launched the CNG version of the Brezza SUV in India and the model is priced at a slight premium compared to the respective petrol variants of the SUV.
As such, here's a quick comparison between the petrol and CNG variants of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV to understand which version should be the better pick of the bunch.

Powertrain: Both the petrol and CNG (bi-fuel) versions of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV comes equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This powertrain puts out 99.2bhp of power and 136Nm of torque while running on petrol and 86.63bhp of power and 121.5Nm torque in CNG mode.
Gearbox: The petrol-only version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the CNG version of the Brezza SUV comes exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Price: Starting with the price, the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG SUV is priced from Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base LXI variant and the top-spec 'ZXI' variant with dual-tone shade is priced at Rs 12.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
This means the CNG version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV is priced at a premium of Rs 95,000 compared to the respective petrol variants of the sub-4m SUV.

Fuel Efficiency: According to ARAI, the LXI and VXI variants of the Brezza SUV equipped with manual transmission returns a fuel efficiency figure of 20.15km/l, whereas the top-spec ZXI and ZXI+ variants return a fuel efficiency figure of 19.89km/l.
On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG returns a fuel efficiency figure of 25.51km/kg in CNG mode - Which makes it quite a lot cheaper to run compared to petrol-only variants of the SUV.

Running Cost: In Bangalore, where petrol cost hovers around the Rs 101 mark for a litre of petrol, the running cost of the petrol-only variant of the Brezza SUV stands at Rs 5.01/km.
In comparison, the running cost of the CNG version of the Marui Suzuki Brezza SUV stands at just Rs 3.41/km. This makes the Brezza CNG a lot more affordable to run. and it will be an ideal choice for those who use their car on a daily basis.

Thoughts About Maruti Suzuki Brezza Vs Brezza CNG
Though the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza SUV costs Rs 95,000 more than the respective petrol-only variants of the SUV. It just takes around 59,375km to reach the breakeven point (BEP).
As such, a user with a monthly usage of 1,500km can profit from the CNG version of the SUV in under 3 years and 4 months. So, over a period of 15 years, the user will be able to save more than Rs 4.3 lakh (Given the fuel prices do not change).
