Maruti Suzuki Baleno Prices Hiked – Check Out All Details
India's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has hiked the prices of the Baleno hatchback. On top of that, the new Baleno comes with new safety features and an updated powertrain as well.
Diving into details, all variants of the Maruti Suzuki's premium hatchback now get a uniform price hike of Rs 5,000. In addition to that, the base variant now comes equipped with ESP and hill hold assist.
Thanks to the addition of ESP, the base variant of the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback is a lot safer by reducing the risk of skidding on slippery surfaces. This feature is especially useful during slippery road conditions.
Furthermore, with the added hill-hold function, new Maruti Suzuki Baleno users can easily drive on steep inclines without worrying about the vehicle rolling backwards as the vehicle will continue to apply brakes for a few seconds even after the user releases the brake pedal.
In terms of powertrain, the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno continues to be offered with the same 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine with a 12-volt mild-hybrid system. This engine in the Baleno hatchback produces 89bhp of peak power and 113Nm of peak torque.
Gearbox options on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. That being said, the powertrain in the Baleno has been updated to comply with the RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.
At present, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback starts from Rs 6.61 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 'Sigma' variant, and goes all the way up to Rs 9.88 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-spec 'Alpha' variant with AMT gearbox.
