Captain Seats For Mahindra XUV700 – New Variant Likely To Be Launched In 2024

The Mahindra XUV700 continues to be one of the best-selling vehicles in the segment despite a few shortcomings. However, with the launch of the updated Safari, Mahindra seems to have started to address its shortcomings.

Speaking about shortcomings, Mahindra is offering the XUV700 SUV with two types of seating configurations - A 5-seater and a 7-seater. However, many in this segment prefer a 6-seater layout with captain seats in the middle row due to additional comfort and ease of access to the third row.

Unfortunately, the Mahindra XUV700 SUV lacks this 6-seater configuration and the new Tata Safari SUV not only offers this configuration but its equipment level almost matches the Mahindra XUV700. Moreover, the refreshed design and updated features of the new Safari have definitely grabbed a lot of attention.

To address this threat and maintain its dominance in the segment, Mahindra seems to be gearing up for the launch of the 6-seater variant of the XUV700 SUV. This information was confirmed after an image of the new user manual of the new XUV700 SUV was leaked online.

Thanks to the new 6-seater configuration, new Mahindra XUV700 customers will have a more comfortable 2nd-row seating option. Furthermore, the access to the third row will see a significant improvement as well.

That being said, we are not sure if the upcoming 6-seater variant of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV will feature ventilated captain seats on the second row like the facelifted version of the Tata Safari SUV.

Along with the introduction of the new 6-seater variant, we expect Mahindra to introduce a few updates to the XUV700 SUV along with a revised feature list to attract more buyers in the segment. This will help Mahindra to maintain its lead over its immediate rivals.

It is also worth mentioning that the upcoming 6-seater version of the Mahindra XUV700 will continue to use the same powertrain options as the outgoing version of the XUV700 SUV. However, we do not expect the upcoming model to feature the detuned version of the diesel engine.

That being said, the petrol unit is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged unit with 197bhp and 380Nm of torque. This engine can be specified with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine puts out 182bhp and 450Nm of torque. Like the petrol powertrain, this engine can also be specified with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission option.

Thoughts About Mahindra XUV700 With Captain Seats

The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 6-seater variant will have a more comfortable 2nd-row seating option. Furthermore, access to the third row will see a significant improvement, pretty useful for families with kids.
