The XUV700, Mahindra's flagship SUV and a prominent player in the Indian market has gained immense popularity due to its attractive features and competitive pricing. The hi-tech-loaded vehicle has a huge fan base.
Kuldeep Singh was a proud owner until the SUV caught fire while travelling on Jaipur Highway. The vehicle caught fire on its own without any indications of overheating. Fortunately, occupants could escape the cabin as the smoke entered, just moments before the fire engulfed the entire vehicle.

The owner confirmed that his XUV700 was stock and no electrical modification had been made. In the surfacing video, the SUV's headlights and turn indicators were on, dismissing the possibility of a full electrical failure.
Mahindra issued an official statement on the incident, citing the tampering of electrical wiring for installing aftermarket electrical accessories as the reason for the fire. This statement was issued after the investigation conducted by the field service team.

Thoughts On Mahindra XUV700 Catching Fire On The Road
It is very unfortunate to undergo situations like these. But we should understand that these machines can malfunction, especially when not maintained properly. It is always wise to rethink twice before modifying the stock vehicle with aftermarket installations.
And if you're doing so, ensure that you get it done from an authorised service centre and everything is done properly without loose ends to avoid ending up in situations like these. More like the old saying, prevention is always better than cure.
