Indian SUV specialist Mahindra has increased the prices of the Scorpio Classic. Prices for the Scorpio Classic SUV have been hiked by Rs 65,000 for both variant levels - S & S11.
The Scorpio Classic was launched last year along with the all-new Scorpio-N and provided an alternative to those looking for the old-school looks and smaller size of the previous generation of the Scorpio SUV.
The hike in prices of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic means that the SUV now starts at Rs 12.64 lakh for the base S variant. The top-spec S11 variant, which is the only other trim level offering for the Scorpio Classic is now priced at Rs 16.14 Lakh after the Rs 65K price hike.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic Price | |||
Variant | New Price | Old Price | Difference |
S | ₹12.64 Lakh | ₹11.99 Lakh | ₹65,000 |
S11 | ₹16.14 Lakh | ₹15.49 Lakh | ₹65,000 |
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic unlike the previous-gen Scorpio that it is based on is only offered in rear-wheel drive guise with the 6-speed manual gearbox. The only engine offered for the Scorpio Classic is the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 130bhp and 300Nm of peak torque.
Both the S and S11 variants of the Scorpio Classic are offered in 7-seater guises. Both versions are offered with a bench-style second row of seats and single side-facing booster seats at the rear. The S11 variant is also offered with two captain seats for the second row and a bench-style third row.
The base S variant of the Scorpio Classic is also offered in a 9-seater version which comes with a bench-style second row of seats and twin side-facing jump seats on each side at the rear.
The top-spec S11 comes with all the options dialled in including Projector headlamps with LED eyebrows, DRLs, fog lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 9-inch infotainment display, fabric upholstery and more. The base S variant makes do with vinyl upholstery, steel wheels, and halogen headlamps among other features.
Thoughts About The Price Hike For The Mahindra Scorpio Classic
The price hike for the Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes as no surprise as the prices at the SUVs launch were revealed to be introductory. Despite waiting periods stretching up to 6 months for the SUV, we don't expect the price hike to dull the enthusiasm for the Mahindra Scorpio Classic anytime soon.
