British Luxury on Indian Roads: Lotus Cars Enters India!
The celebrated British sports car manufacturer, Lotus has been said to be launching its brand in India. The widely dispersed media reports claim that the projected date for its grand introduction in the Indian automobile market is presumed to be on the 9th of November, 2023. The reports further disclose that Lotus is collaborating with Exclusive Motors in order to establish its maiden dealership in India's capital city, New Delhi.
The reports suggest that Lotus has a plan of action for releasing two thriving models, initially in the Indian market. These models include the prestigious Emira sportscar and the avant-garde Eletre electric SUV.

The Emira had its grand worldwide debut in 2021. Available with dual engine options, this elegant two-door sports coupe showcases a Toyota-sourced 3.5 litre supercharged V6 petrol engine and the customers have the option to choose between manual or automatic transmission. The other choice is a vigorous 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol unit taken from Mercedes AMG, equipped with a state-of-the-art dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Eletre, on the other hand, takes pride in being the first-ever all-electric SUV from Lotus. This trailblazing SUV has been curated on the innovative Electric Premium Architecture. It comes with a powerful dual-motor setup that is capable of generating a whopping 600 BHP. Lotus asserts that Eletre is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds with a maximum speed of 260 km/h.
The Eletre is equipped with an over 100 kWh battery pack that supports a considerable range of 600 km on a solo charge as tested under WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) cycle conditions. This defines it as a high-performance, environmentally friendly vehicle that is set to revolutionize the Indian automotive scene.
