Log9 Commissions India's First Commercial Li-ion Cell Manufacturing Facility In Bengaluru
India is gradually becoming a manufacturing powerhouse and the country has now taken a giant leap forward as Log9 Materials commission India's first commercial Li-ion cell manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.
This state-of-the-art Li-ion cell manufacturing facility is located at the Log9 campus in Jakkur, Bengaluru, and the initial capacity of the manufacturing facility is claimed to be rated at 50MWh.
Also, this Li-ion cell manufacturing facility will be used to produce both LTO and LFP cells. In addition to that, this facility will support the production of large form factor cylindrical cells ranging between 22 series and 66 series.
According to Log9 Materials, the company's LTO (Lithium Titanium Oxide) cells will contribute to a carbon emission reduction of 90T per vehicle. Furthermore, the total CO2 reduction will amount to 147kT per year.
Along with this, Log9 Materials also launched its indigenously developed Battery Management System (BMS). This BMS is named 'Charvik', and according to the company, Charvik is an intelligent and intuitive BMS incorporated with advanced power control mechanisms and SoX algorithms, resulting in better safety and reliability during high-power applications.
On top of that, the event witnessed the presence of prominent personalities such as Dr Vijay Raghavan, Former Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, Dr K Sivan, Ex-Chairman, ISRO, Dr Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi and other dignified personalities from IITs across the country.
Log9 Materials also shared its tech stack plan for enabling fast charging of LFP batteries on public charging networks while maintaining the life cycle through the implementation of better cell design, advanced cooling technologies, and advanced cell control mechanisms.
To nurture young talent, Log9 Materials also set up an academic engagement program - Log9 RISE. This program is aimed at supporting the young talent pool in the field of battery technologies.
At present, Log9's product portfolio consists of a wide range of EV batteries for commercial two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers. Furthermore, the LTO batteries according to Log9 are the safest in the market as they have been designed to suit the demanding tropical climatic conditions.
