Lamborghini SC63 LMDh Racer Debuts At 2023 Goodwood Festival Of Speed
Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini has revealed its all-new SC63 LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) endurance racer at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Lamborghini SC63 will see the raging bull compete in 2024 at the World Endurance Championship as part of the Hypercar class. The new SC63 will also compete in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship's GTP class from 2024.

This means that the new Lamborghini SC63 will go up against the likes of the Ferrari, Toyota, Porsche, Peugeot, BMW and Cadillac at next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona endurance races.
The Lamborghini SC63 is powered by a brand-new 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine developed by the Sant'Agata Bolognese firm for its new racer. The engine features a 'cold V' meaning that the turbos are mounted outside the vee angle of the engine which makes them easier to cool and to service.

However, like every other LMDh racer, the SC63 racer from Lamborghini features many standardised components in order to help keep running costs down. The SC63 shares the gearbox, battery and motor generator unit (MGU) for the hybrid system with other racers in the LMDh.
With the spec 50kW (67bhp) electric system aiding the new 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, the power output of the SC63 will be like the other cars in its class limited to 671bhp as per the rules for LMDh. However, the Lamborghini SC63 features its own gear ratios and diff settings.

The bodywork for the new SC63 race car has been designed by the Lamborghini Centro Stile bespoke department in conjunction with the race design team. This collaboration has meant that the new SC63 features the firm's Y-shaped lighting setup at both the front and the rear while sporting the bright green livery used by Lamborghini's GT3 race cars.
When it hits the race tracks next year, the Lamborghini SC63 will be run by the Iron Lynx team, which has made a name for itself in GT3. The driver lineup will consist of two former F1 drivers in the form of Romain Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat along with Lamborghini's own factory racing drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Mirko Bortolotti.

Speaking about the new SC63 racer, Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO said, "The SC63 is the most advanced racing car ever produced by Lamborghini and it follows our roadmap 'Direzione Cor Tauri' laid out by the brand for the electrification of our product range. The opportunity to compete in some of the biggest endurance races in the world with a hybrid prototype fits with our vision for the future of high-performance mobility, as demonstrated for road legal cars with the launch of the Revuelto. The SC63 LMDh is the step into the highest echelons and into the future of motorsports for our Squadra Corse."

Thoughts About The Lamborghini SC63
The Lamborghini SC63 will see Lamborghini butt heads with multiple other carmakers at Le Mans and Daytona 24-hour races. Let's hope the latest raging bull has a lot of fun on the track next year as it competes in some of the toughest endurance races in the world.
